Oasis is a member congregation of a Christian fellowship known as the Conservative Mennonite Conference which consists of about 110 congregations totaling about 11,500 members. The conference headquarters, Rosedale Bible College, and the offices of Rosedale Mennonite Missions are all located in Rosedale, Ohio, a rural crossroads about 30 miles west of Columbus, Ohio.
The Conservative Mennonite Conference is one small part of the Mennonite Church family consisting of about 1.6 million people in over 50 countries around the world. Like many church traditions, the 500-year-old Mennonite tradition is rich, complex, and instructive for the church today. The Mennonite heritage includes pacifism, believer’s baptism, communion, footwashing, separation of church and state, radical discipleship, martyrdom, disaster relief, assistance to developing countries, helping the poor, church planting, evangelism, and missions.
For Mennonites, the church is more than going to a Sunday morning meeting. It is a community of believers who belong to each other. It is a family to join. We are called to serve one another in the Spirit of Christ. While this website will help you understand who we are as a local congregation called Oasis, learn more about the world wide Mennonite family by visiting the Third Way Cafe. At Oasis, our goal is not to “make Mennonites,” but to “make followers of Jesus.”
