Song for Worship and Reflection
When I Survey The Wondrous Cross
Verse 1
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

Verse 2
Forbid it Lord that I should boast
Save in the death of Christ my God
All the vain things that charm me most
I sacrifice them to His blood

Verse 3
See from His head His hands His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown

Verse 4
Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing so divine
Demands my soul my life my all

 5. Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, in your Word you have given us the vision of that holy City to which the nations of the world bring their glory: Behold and visit, we pray, the cities of the earth.  Renew the ties of mutual regard which form our civic life.  Send us honest and able leaders. Enable us to eliminate poverty, prejudice, oppression, and COVID 19, that peace may prevail with righteousness, and justice with order, and that men and women from different cultures and with differing talent may find with one another the fulfillment of their humanity; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
