Update: Community Meals

Meals served: 71

Total Money Raised: $675!

Goal: $750

Thanks so much for your generosity in this venture!!! Sharing a meal is a great way to share the love of Jesus. To date, Oasis has provided meals for medical staff taking care of COVID-19 patients at UK Chandler hospital, families in the Ashgrove mobile home community, and individuals impacted by COVID-19.

Our strategy is to go where we (the people of Oasis) are already connected – neighbors, places of work, friends – and share the love of Jesus through sharing food. We are also supporting local business along the way with our purchase of food! If there are people/places on your route you would like to include on the list, I would love to hear about it.  Micah Miller, Church Administrator, (859-449-2231, micahmiller1@gmail.com).

This past week, 29 meals were delivered to families in the Ashgrove mobile home community (AMHC). In the coming weeks more meals will be going out to the AMHC and local grocery store workers. We will continue to provide updates in the “stay in touch” section of our online Sunday service.

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4

Baby Bottle Blessings Campaign

Assurance provides confidential and caring support to women, men, and families affected by unplanned pregnancy. Each year Oasis helps Assurance in their funding campaign. This year the funding drive will only run 3 WEEKS and will start on MOTHER’S DAY (May 10)- the shortened length is due to the digital nature of giving this year. See three easy ways to give in the attachment below.

Prayer

O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: We humbly beseech you to behold, visit, and relieve those who are sick.  Look upon them with the eyes of your mercy; comfort them with a sense of your goodness; preserve them from the temptations of the enemy; and give them patience under their affliction. In your good time, restore them to health, and enable them to lead the residue of their lives in your fear, and to your glory; and grant that finally they may dwell with you in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Song for Reflection

By His Wounds

Isaiah 53: 5

He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed

He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed

We are healed by Your sacrifice
And the life that You gave
We are healed for You paid the price
By Your grace we are saved
We are saved

Benediction

Go, confident in the knowledge of God’s steadfast love for you,

assured of the healing touch of Jesus upon you and

emboldened by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit within you.
